Native mobile apps

iOS & Android, native or cross-platform. From prototype to apps used by hundreds of thousands of people.

iOS and Android applications, native or cross-platform. From prototype to production apps used by hundreds of thousands of people. TOKOM develops in Swift and Kotlin for native, React Native or Flutter when cross-platform makes sense — and knows how to choose between them based on the project, budget, and intended lifespan. Rewriting existing apps, adding features, performance optimization: every mobile project is different, but the rigor is the same.

Mobile e-commerce

Native app connected to your existing catalog. Not replacing your back-office — a mobile channel that plugs into it.

Your catalog is on Shopify, PrestaShop, WooCommerce, or Magento, but the mobile shopping experience deserves better than a responsive site. TOKOM develops native e-commerce apps connected to your existing platform: catalog synchronization, order management, push notifications, purchase flow optimized for mobile. Not replacing your back-office — a mobile channel that plugs right into it.

Connected business apps (ERP/CRM/WMS)

The challenge isn't the app — it's reliable integration with your IS, including when connectivity is intermittent.

Your field technician needs to log their intervention in SAP. Your warehouse operator scans parts and updates stock in real time. Your sales rep on the road checks customer history. TOKOM develops mobile apps that connect to your enterprise systems: ERP, CRM, WMS, business databases. The challenge isn't the app itself — it's reliable integration with your existing IS, including when connectivity is intermittent.

Automotive / vehicle platforms

CarPlay, Android Auto, Android Automotive OS. Embedded display, interaction, and safety constraints.

CarPlay, Android Auto, Android Automotive OS. In-vehicle embedded interfaces have their own constraints: specific displays, steering-wheel-limited interactions, strict safety standards. TOKOM has the expertise to work on these projects and develops apps integrated into the dashboard. A natural extension of mobile and embedded expertise.

Industrial embedded interfaces

HMI in Qt/QML (C++) and embedded Android (AOSP). The application layer that turns a screen into a control tool.

Industrial displays, ruggedized tablets, Raspberry Pi, single-board computers. When your machine or production line interface runs on a dedicated screen, you need a developer who knows how to work under constraints: limited memory, non-standard displays, industrial environments. TOKOM develops HMIs in Qt/QML (C++) and embedded Android (AOSP): the application layer that turns a screen into a control tool. Not low-level system integration (Yocto, drivers), but the interface operators use every day.

AI integration

Not a data science lab. Plugging useful AI into a real product: LLM APIs, on-device inference, sensors.

TOKOM is not a data science lab. But when your product needs a smart feature (image recognition, voice commands, contextual suggestions, sensor data analysis), you need a developer who knows how to wire AI into a production app. API calls to LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini), on-device inference with Core ML or TensorFlow Lite, embedded audio or video stream processing. The approach: integrate useful AI into a real product, not do research.

POC / MVP / Prototyping

Pragmatic and iterative. If the POC becomes a product, the transition is planned — no throwaway code.

You have a concept, you need a first testable product quickly, without over-engineering, but solid enough to show users or investors. TOKOM supports startups and innovation departments of large groups through the prototyping phase: pragmatic technical choices, iterative development, fast delivery. And if the POC turns into a product, the transition is already planned: no throwaway code that needs to be rewritten from scratch.

Takeover, migration, maintenance

Diagnose, fix, migrate. Not just firefighting — putting a product back on track.

Your Cordova or React Native app is hitting its limits. Your previous developer left. Your store ratings are tanking. TOKOM takes over existing apps, diagnoses the issues, and proposes a plan: targeted fixes, stack migration (Cordova / React Native → native), or full rewrite when justified. Progressive migration from an aging stack to native over 10 years. Stabilization of abandoned apps with plummeting store ratings. This isn't firefighting — it's putting a product back on track.

Wearables

Apple Watch, Wear OS. An extension of the mobile app — notifications, health, wrist interface.

Apple Watch, Wear OS. Smartwatches are a natural extension of the mobile app: rich notifications, health tracking, wrist interface for situations where pulling out a phone isn't an option. TOKOM develops apps and complications for watchOS and Wear OS, linked to the main mobile app. Particularly relevant for IoT and health projects, where the watch becomes an additional collection or alert point.

Field apps

Offline-first required, deferred sync, interface adapted to real-world conditions, peripherals.

Your technicians work in areas with no network. Your delivery drivers wear gloves. Your inspectors fill out forms in the rain. Field apps are mobile with extra constraints: offline-first required, deferred synchronization, interface adapted to real-world conditions, peripheral integration (scanner, printer). TOKOM designs apps that work without a network first and sync when they can: a recurring pattern across many projects.

Kiosks / interactive terminals

Locked-down interface, public use, autonomous operation. Mobile meets industrial.

Tablets in retail, reception kiosks, interactive screens in museums or showrooms. TOKOM develops kiosk-mode applications on Android: locked-down interface, public use, autonomous operation. A specific case of embedded systems that combines mobile constraints (touchscreen, consumer UX) with industrial ones (robustness, 24/7 operation, remote management).

§ 03 / METHOD

How I work.

A single point of contact on the mobile side. Long-term technical rigor. No buzzwords, no engagement accepted if it doesn't make sense.

01 / CYCLE

Full project cycle

From scratch, takeover, audit, maintenance. No phase is out of scope.

02 / FORMAT

Short-term or long-term

Short engagement (audit, unblocking, POC) or multi-year support.

03 / AUTONOMY

Direct dialogue

Single point of contact on the mobile side. Unfiltered communication with your technical and hardware teams.

04 / STANCE

Technical honesty

I flag what's wrong and propose alternatives. I turn down an engagement if it doesn't make sense.

05 / RELATIONSHIP

Built for the long run

Most clients stay for several years. That's the default way of working.

One-off engagement

Technical audit, unblocking an existing team, concept prototyping, scoping a mobile or IoT project before hiring in-house.

Long-term support

Ongoing mobile ownership — development, maintenance, product evolution, new peripheral integration — over several years.

§ 04 / ABOUT

Thomas Fétiveau — TOKOM.

20+ years of experience in mobile, IoT, and embedded development. Kitchen robots, sensors and probes, industrial terminals, electric bikes. Based in Carnac, remote-first.

Thomas Fétiveau

One developer, a long track record.

// Founder · Mobile & IoT engineer · Since 2009

Since 2009, I've been building software that runs on phones, connected devices, industrial embedded screens, and vehicle dashboards. I've worked on consumer products used by hundreds of thousands of people, as well as business terminals deployed across a few hundred sites.

My approach hasn't changed: understand the product and its real constraints (including hardware), choose technologies that will stand the test of time, deliver what's useful and discard what isn't. And stand by my technical opinions, because that's what builds trust over the long run.
